Southwest VA - URGENT! 9 Penned/Chained Dogs, Large and Small, Need Foster or Rescue -

This situation is horrific and we are frantically trying to find a place for all of these dogs to go.  As you can see, they are living in filth with dirty water and molded food that has been thrown on the ground.  No one lives on the property however the dogs are not considered abandoned.  The owner will surrender.

There are a total of 9 dogs: two purebred pomeranians (one is a little nippy); a beautiful Samoyed mix, a husky mix, a blind (possibly diabetic) old husky mix, an adorable older beagle, a humble and sweet beagle mix, and two growly, potential biting beagle mixes.

Due to the high kill rate at the shelter in this area, we are holding off on contacting AC for the time being.  Our first priority is to give these dogs a chance.  Once we have a safe place for them to go we hope to pursue cruelty charges.

We are very short on resources but need a place for these dogs to go.  If you can just take one.  We do not have resources for transports as of yet so if you live nearby and can come to us, that would be so very helpful.

We have started a ChipIn as well at:

It will cost approximately $250/dog for basic medical care:  spay/neuter, HW test, vaccinations, flea treatment, de-worming.  If you can help with donations, foster care, etc.  we would be so very grateful.

Thanks so much,
Shannon Allen
